Supervision, Training and Consultancy

Learning and sharing my knowledge and skills are very much interrelated for me and so much part of my passion and drive. I taught at two Family Therapy training institutions and have regular trainees both in my independent practice as well as in the NHS. I have a strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and I regularly attend workshops and conferences as well as reading extensively to increase my knowledge and skills.

I have been working in leadership roles in the NHS since 2014. Currently, I am the Clinical Lead in a CAMHS team.

I provide therapy, supervision, training and consultancy in English and Portuguese.

In addition to my qualifications in clinical psychology, dance movement therapy and family and systemic psychotherapy, I have the following certificates in supervision, training and leadership:

  • MA in Systemic Supervision
  • Supervision for Family and Multi-family Therapy for Eating Disorder
  • Licence to Lead Programme
  • AFT Leadership Programme
  • National Autism Trainer Programme

I incorporate aspects of my practice and of different trainings in a flexible way to meet the needs of those I am working with, respecting their own expertise and aspirations. Get in touch to discuss your hopes and needs and to consider how we could form a fruitful partnership.

Supervision

I provide clinical supervision and consultation for counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as for clinicians from various professional backgrounds. Clinical supervision can be a single meeting or regular consultations.

The focus of supervision/consultation might include a combination of:

  • Case discussions;
  • Theory-practice links;
  • Considerations of personal and professional development and CPD;
  • Organisational, team management and team dynamics issues;
  • Self-reflexivity;
  • Considerations of issues such as power, culture and social inclusion.

The emphasis could be on systemic perspectives to the clinician’s practice or on the clinician’s own theoretical model.

Supervision can be retrospective and may include audio/video material. I also offer live supervision. “Live supervision” is a common practice in the field of systemic and family therapy. In this process, the supervisor joins the main therapist for sessions either as a co-therapist or as part of the “reflecting team”[i]. It might be intended for training purposes or any of the foci mentioned above.

I presented this project at the Eating Disorder International Conference 2021 which can be viewed here.
